The 33rd African Diaspora International Film Festival returns to NYC with 70 films from 30+ countries, highlighting African, Caribbean, and global Black storytelling.
A Festival Rooted in Harlem, Reaching the World
The 33rd African Diaspora International Film Festival (ADIFF) is gearing up for another landmark year, returning to New York City from November 29 to December 14, 2025.Born in Harlem and proudly minority-run, the festival has built its name on one idea: Black stories deserve global visibility, and global Black experiences deserve to be in conversation with one another.
This year’s edition arrives with its biggest program in years — more than 70 films from over 30 countries, spanning Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and North America.
It’s less a festival and more a world tour through Black storytelling.
This year’s programming includes:
African titles from Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Egypt and Morocco
Diaspora stories from Brazil, Haiti, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic
Films from Black communities across Europe and the U.S.
Archival screenings of classic or rarely seen works
Contemporary narratives focused on migration, identity, joy, and global belonging
As ADIFF celebrates its 33rd edition, it proves once again why it remains one of the most important cultural events in global Black cinema.
For African audiences, even thousands of miles away, the festival’s lineup resonates — reminding us that while borders divide geography, Black stories continue to travel, transform, and unite.
