The highly anticipated Egyptian drama Aisha Can’t Fly Away — directed by Morad Mostafa — has been confirmed for its MENA premiere at the 2025 Marrakech International Film Festival, with screenings scheduled for December 3 (Palais des Congrès) and December 4 (Cinéma Le Colisée).
Before Marrakech, the film made waves globally: it premiered at Cannes 2025 in the prestigious Un Certain Regard section — marking the first Egyptian film in nearly a decade to achieve that honour.
Aisha Can’t Fly Away follows Aisha, a 26-year-old Sudanese caregiver navigating life amid Cairo’s migrant communities. As violence, blackmail, and desperation threaten her world, the film offers an unflinching look at identity, survival, and resilience.
With Cannes momentum behind it, all eyes will be on Marrakech — where North African, Arab, and global audiences will get their first regional look at this powerful, timely work.
