Exclusive: Aloma — New Nigerian Thriller Promises Grit, Heart and Real-Life Stakes

Chris Ihidero’s long-awaited feature film Aloma has added more fuel to its growing hype — , and insiders telling FSA the set energy and story depth immediately stood out. Produced by PinPoint Productions and backed by MBO Capital, the film has a planned 2026 release.

Faqua — known for powerful roles in titles like Lagos Cougars and Ojukokoro — told NECLive 2025 that the script for Aloma grabbed him from the very first pages.

“Maybe out of 20, one or two scripts catch you,” he said. “But when I read this one, I called the director on page four.”

He praised the screenplay’s complexity and the emotional weight given to each character — and described working with co-stars, the director, and crew as “rare,” citing high standards of professionalism.

Alongside Faqua, the cast includes Folu Storms as Adia — the romantic interest whose fate is entwined with Faqua’s character in a story described by Ihidero as a “love story in a time of war.” The thematic core centers on societal division, desperation, hope and love clashing amidst harsh urban realities.

With the script, cast, and production backing in place, Aloma is shaping up to be one of Nollywood’s most ambitious releases in 2026. If this first glimpse is anything to go by, the film may not just arrive with fanfare — but with force.

FSA is also privileged to unveil an exclusive clip from Aloma — a robbery sequence that throws the film’s world into sharp relief: the tension, fear, and desperation of lives caught between survival and danger. This short scene already reveals the film’s tone: raw, urgent and unflinching.
